In 1992, the game was invented by Gamos employees Oleg Demin, Gennady Denisov and Igor Ivkin. The idea of the game arose even earlier ─ at the end of the Soviet era, the listed employees toiled from idleness at the All-Union Institute of Standardization and Metrology. Young people got acquainted with computer technology, mastering games that were fashionable at that time like "Prince of Persia".
These activities stimulated the creative process ─ Tetris-like "Corners" were invented for warm-up. Then everything happened like in a movie with a happy end. On TV, Demin saw the director of Gamos, who invited everyone to cooperate. The company offered its "Corners", they were bought. True, the subsequent development of the quests was rejected, but the simple idea of Color Lines was liked.
Interesting Facts
- Color Lines appeared around the same time as Tetris. Unlike the continuously falling Tetris figures, the balls are in no hurry.
- The authors of Color Lines have developed several more similar games. In 1996, the rights to them were bought by the Japanese Bandai Namco. This company renamed Colored Lines to Golly! Ghosts! Goal! " (ゴ ー リ ー ゴ ー ス ト ゴ ー ル).
